Roohs' Art

I started my artistic journey with coloring and painting as a child whilst dreaming of becoming an artist. At age 14, I began exploring poetry and writing up my own poems. At this point, I also aspired to become a poet.

I loved all forms of art and using them as a form of expression, but it all ended abruptly at age 17 because I had to take care of my family. My everlasting love for poetry continued deep down as I attempted to continue writing poetry in secret for years. During those years, I never stopped dreaming. I had a bucket list of dreams to achieve; I wanted my freedom, to get my high school diploma, to be an artist, and I wanted to be a poet.

After a long battle, my dreams started to materialize in 2011. The first step was learning English, reading it, speaking it, and writing it. I then earned my GED and received my bachelor’s and master’s degrees from George Washington University in Information Systems Technology.

Achieving my financial and intellectual freedom allowed me to focus on my art.

At last, I became a calligraphy poet, ultimately combining my three passions into one. Being able to share my poems using Arabic calligraphy was a breath of fresh air.

I am extremely happy to say that I have started working on another dream, my own art studio RoohsArt where I can share with you, my creations.
